Policies
Hello! Here are our policies, terms and conditions! We love running our shows, and we pride ourselves on having a fun, intimate and welcoming atmosphere, but we have to have some rules and strict policies to protect ourselves and to ensure we keep our acts, audiences, venues and other partners happy!
COVID Policy
What is our refund policy?
Anyone showing symptoms of COVID (high temperature, cough, loss of taste/smell), will receive an immediate refund and will not be allowed to attend. Refunds will be offered to those having to cancel due to COVID 19. Those needing to isolate will also receive the same refund.
Latecomer policy
We reserve the right to refuse entry to latecomers. Audience members must arrive before the start of the show or you may not be permitted to enter. Latecomers can be heavily disruptive to shows and we reserve the right to sell on tickets on the door after the show has begun. With hundreds of sell out shows, we often have a queue on the door of people wanting tickets. We have an obligation to our acts to fill seats.
Transfer policy
If you can no longer attend a show due to plan changes, we do not refund tickets but you are able to transfer your tickets to a future show date. If you have to cancel your booking we will offer you a transfer to a future date. You must transfer your place before the date of your initial booking show date has passed. You cannot retrospectively transfer your place for a show you have not turned up to. When you transfer you can only switch your ticket to an event of equal value or less. We have plenty of shows to choose from all available on our website and eventbrite here. Audience lead transfers have been turned on so you can transfer your tickets during the corona virus pandemic. There’s a guide on how to transfer tickets here.
Refund policy
We do not offer refunds for tickets purchased unless a show is cancelled or there is a mistake made by Jericho Comedy, in any other circumstances refunds may not be offered. In the event of a customer mistaken booking, last minute cancellations a refund is not available. However, in these instances, customers can transfer their tickets to a future date.
Accessibility policy
We try to make shows as accessible as possible but sadly not all of our venues are wheelchair accessible. This is unfortunately due to poor venue access across Oxford but to compensate we run regular accessible shows in Common Ground Workspace and Blackwell’s Bookshop. Unfortunately, the Jericho Cafe and the Jericho Tavern are not wheelchair accessible.
Please do contact us in advance of a show if you have accessibility requirements at events@jerichocomedy.com. We are happy to offer a free carer ticket for shows for those with the need for a carer to attend.
Age restrictions policy
We started seeing comedy from a young age, so we’re fairly relaxed about age limits but we also don’t want to upset or disappoint young audience members and families. For our stand-up shows parental discretion is advised but be aware that swearing and subjects of a sexual nature regularly feature. We recommend 16+ for our stand-up shows, but this is a guideline for parents to be followed at your discretion. If you think your younger child may be ok with sensitive subject matters, you may bring them at your own risk. The Jericho Tavern’s age policy is 18+ for licensing reasons for evening shows.
For our family friendly Harry Potter shows in Blackwell’s there is no age limit as these are suitable for all ages, however we recommend 9+ for maximum enjoyment. If you are ever unsure about age suitability drop us an email at events@jerichocomedy.com
Harassment policy
We have a zero tolerance policy against harassment, we have to protect our acts, our audience members and our venue staff.
In the unusual and highly unlikely situation that someone is posing threatening, violent, or verbally harassing behaviour we reserve the right to ask that individual or group to leave the show. Refunds will not be offered to individuals posing these behaviours. We are lucky that we rarely encounter these behaviours.
We appreciate audience interaction is a part of comedy, one of our favourite parts, but as a friendly and welcoming comedy organiser we do not welcome physically aggressive behaviour, unwanted physical contact, threats of violence, sexual harassment or other harassing behaviours. This includes acts and audience members alike.
